Cool
Summer Waves: As Flag Day (June 14) and Independence
Day (July 4-5) approach, we wave our flags and express our thanks
for the many sacrifices made so we can enjoy the liberties we have
today.
NEW
FROM WORDPIX:
Virtual Assistant Services.
We now offer "virtual assistant" (VA) services to our
clients, capitalizing upon the polished administrative and clerical
skills of the editor of this newsletter. And why not? She's a
crackerjack secretary with advanced skills who's won typing speed
contests (with full accuracy). Need a report or employee manual typed (or
composed or laid out)? Need some data entry into your Excel file?
Want your PowerPoint show updated?
Contact Peggi - she's ready, willing and able and she works
virtually (long distance)!
CUSTOMER
SPOTLIGHT :
Nita Busby's HeresMyResume.com is just what the discreet job seeker needs.
Nita Busby, known for effective career coaching and resume writing,
introduces a website that lets employment agencies and resume
preparers post the resumes of their clients privately. An employer
can only view the resume if given a password, protecting the job
search from the eyes of the current employer and others. It's a
one-of-a-kind service available to the employment staffing
community. (If you're a job seeker, refer your agent.)

WEB-RELATED
NEWS
The New ".CO"
Domain
was introduced recently to great
applause in the corporate community. It seems every business with a
".com" wants a ".co." Unfortunately, not everyone will
get one. Those wanting the .co for names they have
trademarked could apply during Phase I, which just ended. Everyone
else can apply during the "Landrush" phase, beginning June 21.
We can get you on the waiting list (to be considered in the
first wave).
Contact us right away. We can't promise you'll get the .co name you want,
but you'll have a better chance if you get on the list by June 18.

FYI:
Writing Right - Don't Use These Very Empty Words A Lot, Really:
When interviewed on the Today Show's website MSNBC recently,
copywriting guru Susan Gunelius advised dropping "worthless" words
that take up valuable space on the page and hinder the flow of
reading, such as: "Very" - it's rarely needed; "Really" - Do we
really have to tell you why this really says zilch? "A lot" - Don't
be vague. Offer cold, hard numbers. "Synergy" - it's time to retire
this one. "That" - Cut this word and shave off 90 percent of your
wordiness while improving readability. |
