Video Production Plan for a 5 minute video
Mini DV or DVCAM shoot and non-linear digital edit

"No frills," modest budget production. Editing includes basic cuts and dissolves edited with limited motion graphics and limited digital video effects. A standard music score is included. Included are:

• Script writing
• Production meetings as necessary
• 1 day of shooting at 1 location
• 2-man crew
• Full complement of microphones, lights and tape stock
• 2 days of post production, including digital editing, web encoding and minimum quantities of duplication

Extras: More elaborate sound mix with additional tracks, other more sophisticated resources for pre-production, scripting, shooting, editing and duplication.

Video Production Plan for a 10 minute video
Mini DV or DVCAM shoot and non-linear digital edit

Uses a "news gathering" approach similar to a "reality show." Wordpix provides formal scripting, production schedule and questions for an interview approach, in which a company representative is interviewed. Answers are recorded/filmed (questions are not recorded), and used as narrative over filmed scenes.

This approach uses a lightweight professional DV camcorder. Editing may be more complex than just basic cuts and dissolves. Motion graphics and animation may be included where necessary. The sound track may use professional narration, sound bites from on-location interviews, a multi-track music score and appropriate sound effects. Included are:

• Story and script writing
• Production meetings as necessary
• 2 days of shooting
• 2-man crew
• Full complement of microphones, lights and tape stock
• 4 days of post production, including web encoding and minimum quantities of duplication
• Voice over and music rights

This "reality show" style is very popular today, as it is not only low in cost to produce, but it gives the viewer a "behind the scenes" look into the company.

Video Production Plan 3: 10 minute video
Betacam shoot and non-linear digital edit

This is a more traditional style of production that relies heavily on the written script. Each shot is carefully staged and multiple takes are required on location. Wordpix provides scripting and production schedule.

A professional Beta-cam camera will be used, with each shot staged according to the script. Most of the shots require use of a tripod or optional dolly and camera jib. In order to obtain the cleanest shots possible, a lot of attention is devoted to lighting and composition. Interviews with a company spokesperson may be filmed, using scripted questions.

Post-production editing may be more elaborate than just basic cuts and dissolves. Motion graphics and animation may be included. The sound track may use professional narration, sound bites from on-location interviews, a multi-track music score and appropriate sound effects. Included are:

• Extensive story and script writing
• Production meetings as necessary
• 2 days of shooting (at 2 or 3 locations if necessary)
• 5 to 6-man crew
• Full complement of microphones, lights and tape stock
• 5 days of post production, including digital editing, web encoding and minimum quantities of duplication
• Voice over and music rights

For additional credibility (and additional cost), a professional spokesperson/celebrity may be as a narrator and for voice overs.
