Hello, there!

It is my pleasure to welcome you to my creative world. I'm pleased to have this space on the site of the company I founded in 1989, Wordpix Solutions.

My current project is probably the biggest star in the tiara of my writing and publishing career. It's the hardbound, full-color, pictorial history of the Los Angeles Flower Market - and Southern California's flower growers, designers, florists, wholesalers and shippers of the past century. It's called Sending Flowers to America. My duties for this important regional history book ranged from organizing the project to hiring an associate writer (Jan Works) and a cover artist (Michael Wheary) and a page layout artist (Theresa Padilla Fajardo) to setting up the book specs, selecting a printer and, voila!, writing the first half of the book (the year-by-year history) myself. (Jan wrote the profiles of individuals and families that make up the second half of the book.)

But my job with Sending Flowers to America, whose seven pallets will be delivered in October 2008, isn't over. I'm working on the promotion and publicity for the book now. (Let me know if you can direct me to a good market for this product.)

The really fun books are my own stories, of course, and they're still "inside". They are the "train people" stories, the engrossing tale of my European immigrant grandparents. And how could I not write about the rodeo cowboy escapades of my sons or the tornadoes they've experienced deep in America's heartland; and others ....  They're not quite like the non-fiction business books I've published (now out of print) but they're favorites just the same.
